The Whizzkids 01 | The story begins. You don't know much about our heros except that they are in the thick of things when the story begins. You find out a little bit about who they are thanks to the arrival of Captain Victory (or is it?). The real Captain Victory (Bill Victor) is Dan's father. |
The Whizzkids 02 | Since I have made more than 200 issues of The Bulk, I decided to experiment a little with this issue. I decided that I wanted to experiment with this comic more than I did with The Bulk. In this comic we meet the second father-figure. This one is Phil Thomp's father: Paul Thomp. And we see the problems with his pop. |
The Whizzkids 03 | More experimenting. Years ago I borrowed a Mac and wanted to see how I could draw comics on it. It was very difficult but it helped inspire the story line a little. In this issue we meet the third father of the boys. He just has a minor role in this issue, but tied up you can see Joe Worthy, The Bulk. He is, of course, Gus Worthy's father and the hero of many comics in his day. He is called: "The Greatest Criminal-Turned-Super-Hero Of All Time" |
The Whizzkids 04 | All of our heroes meet up with their fathers in this issue. Gus Worthy is reunited with his father, The BULK (Joe Worthy), Phil Thomp with his father Paul Thomp, and Dan Victor meets up with Captain Victory (Bill Victor). |
The Whizzkids 05 | Back in issue #4, The kids were given a shard from the Staff of Power by their fathers. No one suspected the power that it held, but they followed the strict orders of leaving it encased in glass. Well, the 'Fat man of Anoka' suspected. Somehow he found out what the kids possessed and so he sent one of his stooges to try to claim it for himself. That little attempt goes sour when the burgler receives a surprise visit by none other than 'Scribble'. You'll remember him from issue #1. If you don't remember him, now would be a good time to refresh your memory since he's going to be in issue #6. |
The Whizzkids 06 | I lied about Scribble being in issue #6, but he'll be along, don't worry.
Phil Thomp took the shard from the Staff of Power to keep it safe from the Fat Man of Anoka.
Unfortunately, he broke the glass and grabbed hold of the piece of wood. The power immediately went
to his head and he flew out of the house through the roof. In issue #6, Dan Victor and Gus Worthy get
word that his body is at the morgue. When Gus touches the body, he realizes it's hollow. To him that
means that Phil is still alive somewhere. They eventually find Phil blowing up everything in his sight.
Gus has a plan to try to stop him, and he tells Dan to keep Phil occupied. Thats easier said than done
since Phil is now total energy and can move and destroy at the speed of light!
